Structural Insulated Panels

What are SIPs?
SIPs are high-performance building panels for floors, walls and roofs in residential and commercial buildings. Structall Building Systems, Inc. uses expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam insulation sandwiched between two structural skins of steel (used in our patented Snap-N-Lock™ panel) or oriented strand board (OSB) (used in our Half-Snap™ panel and Double OSB panels). The result is a building system that is very strong, predictable, energy efficient, and cost effective.
The Snap-N-Lock panel has been tested and has received 2004 Florida Product Approval for composite panels as mandated by the State of Florida and the Florida Building Commision.

Finishing Materials (INTERIOR & EXTERIOR)
Panels can be customized with a variety of substrates. Check with a salesperson to determine available options. Additional finishing materials can also be applied directly to the skins of the SNAP-N-LOCK™ panel in the field to give the home a more conventional appearance. The interior walls can be complemented with drywall, the roof with shingles or even a metal barrel tile, and the exterior walls with stucco, brick or siding. The flexibility and versatility of the SNAP-N-LOCK™ panel does not restrict the creativity of the architect or the end user. Any finishes applied to the panel are merely for aesthetic reasons. The panel performs better than traditional building materials structurally, thermally and acoustically and doesn't require additional finishing materials to improve performance.
Tools & Equipment
The same tools and equipment are needed, whether you plan to construct a residential home or a commercial project. You will need to have on hand a circular saw with regular blades and steel cutting blades (if using steel skin panels), Adjustable Saw (to cut 45degrees angles), hammer, battery-powered drill, 1/4" x 6" concrete bits, 1/4" hex driver bits, regular square and adjustable square, 3 ft. level, putty knife, sealant gun, metal shears, scaffolding, and ladders.

A comprehensive, full color book on building with energy efficient SIPs. Veteran home builder, Michael Morley spent a year and a half writing the book which includes over 140 photographs and drawings, that detail how to design and build with SIP technology.
"It's so much better on so many levels that I think this system will be the preferred method of construction for all home builders in just a few years."
Learn how to install wall and roof panels, run mechanical systems, select the tools you need, fabricate panels and components, choose the right panels for the job.
No library on building will be complete without this book! |
